Announce Start of Season 2013 Artwork "The Nutcracker"

The eighteenth season of uninterrupted play "The Nutcracker" performed since 1995 Ballet Nacional de Guatemala "Cultural Patrimony of the Nation", It will start on Saturday 7 December at 17 pm in the Great Hall at the Miguel Angel Asturias.

"The Nutcracker", one of the most beautiful classical ballet repertoire universal, presents year after year for many companies around the world, as part of Christmas celebrations. The music of this ballet was composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and original choreography by Lev Ivanov.

In Guatemala presented since 1995, when Carlos Marroquin, then director of Ballet Guatemala, Joining forces with the master Antonio Crespo recalled, initiating and, a tradition that brings joy to eighteen years providing Guatemalan public.

The play tells the story of Clara, a girl who receives a doll as a Christmas present "Nutcracker", or be a wooden soldier serving, not only as a toy, but also to break the shells of nuts eaten at Christmas. Overnight, the girl dreams that the nutcracker comes to life and faces his fiercest enemy the Mouse King. The Nutcracker, helped by Clara, defeats his enemy and becomes a prince, thanks that takes the girl to visit the world of fantasy.

The season for all age groups will be held Saturday 7 and 14 December at 17:00 pm and Sundays 8 and 15 December at 11:00 and 17:00 hours, in the Great Hall of the Cultural Center "Miguel Angel Asturias".
