The Directorate-General of Arts, Ministry of Culture and Sports (MCD) and the School of Library Science at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala (USAC) recently signed a letter of understanding to create a network of libraries in art, in which two entities agree to work together.

The libraries will be located in Community Schools Art, by DG Arts MCD, located in several municipalities. USAC students who are doing their EPS Supervised Professional Practice, They made these practices in the first half of the year 2014 and so on, until they are led by professionals in the field.

Within this framework, the School of Library appoint students who complete their internship and they in turn agree to comply with the schedule for the operation of libraries. Well, the Directorate-General of Arts is committed to providing the space to practitioners and to develop their roles.

The signing took place at the premises of the Directorate-General of Arts at the National Palace of Culture. The letter was signed by Lucia Weapons, Director General of Arts and Amelia Yoc, Director of the School of Library USAC.

The Director General of the Arts expressed enthusiasm and said he is very pleased by the fact that such partnerships are made with different institutions, to work together to further strengthen the culture and education through art Guatemala.
