Central united through Dance

La Compañía de Danza de Centroamérica y el Caribe, se estará presentando en el Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias, el próximo 29 de enero a las 19:00 Hrs., entrada gratuita.

The Dance Company of Central America and the Caribbean, will be performing at the Centro Cultural Miguel Angel Asturias, the next 29 January at 19:00 Hrs., free entry.

After a successful tour of six countries, the Dance Company of Central (CODACA) makes his arrival in Guatemala where two artistic presentations held with experts in the performing arts, as part of the First Meeting of dancers of Central America and the Caribbean concluded its management in our country.

The activities will be on Wednesday 29 January in the room "Efrain Recinos" Centro Cultural "Miguel Angel Asturias" and Thursday 30 on the premises of the Spanish Cooperation in Antigua Guatemala, Both the 19:00 Hrs. CODACA present choreography "Other Seas" and the Modern National Folkloric Ballet and Guatemala "Guatemala.com", Choreographer Amadeo Alvizures.

Start the tour CODACA 7 December 2013 National Theater in San Salvador, El Salvador. Later they made art tours to Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Dominican Republic, featuring the choreography in each country; one corresponding to the work of the members of the Company and other art institution selected by the host.

The work created by CODACA is directed by choreographer Mark Sieczkarek Scottish and Karol Marenco, artistic director of the National Dance Company of El Salvador. For Guatemala there is to the representativeness of Lucia Weapons, Director of Development and former director of the Modern Art and National Folkloric Ballet of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Fernando Juárez, Director del Ballet Moderno y Folclórico Nacional de Guatemala, Lucía Armas, Directora de Fomento del Arte y Hartmut Schostak, representante de la Embajada de Alemania, dieron a conocer el Lanzamiento Nacional de la CODACA.

CODACA is made up of dancers representatives of each country it isthmus and Dominican Republic. Guatemalan artists are Ana Sofia and Joshua Villar Elihu Barrios, both members of the National Folkloric Ballet and Modern.

It has the support of the Goethe Institut, System of Central American Integration (SICA), Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Educational and Cultural Coordination (CECC/SICA) and various public and private institutions in each country, among which the Directorate General of Arts, the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The completion of the event is the launch of a series of initiatives, in order to integrate regional efforts towards greater participation in dance activities. Through the coexistence of directors and dancers will be able to generate a new choreography, with particular emphasis on teamwork of its members.
