Dance Rabinal Achí if you are presenting in Rabinal, B.V.

RABINAL ACHI00868The dance prehispánica Rabinal Achí, which was declared in the year 2004 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, through the Ministerial Decision No.. 294-2004, is being presented from the 18 January in Rabinal, Baja Verapaz, occasion of the celebration of the town fair, which concludes next 27 January.

This artistic and cultural event, tells a story among the Quiché people and Rabinaleb, and political conflicts of the various kingdoms that ruled at the time. It is presented each year in the town of Rabinal, Baja Verapaz, in honor a San Pablo, the patron of the place and the town fair.

Also, Year 2005 the United Nations Educational, Science and Culture (UNESCO) Rabinal Achi said as Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

La danza-drama, Achi is presented in language and consists of 4 acts and 21 characters representing the two peoples. Al Rabinal Achi is also known as the dancing Tun.

This dance has a great historical and cultural value and has been transmitted orally from generation to generation, managing to survive the passage of time and the different cultural and social changes that people have suffered. Currently the only script that exists inherited José León Coloch Garniga, who runs from 1,983 the group with this work.

Upcoming dates to be presented in the Rabinal Achi are the days 23 January compared to Calvary, 24 and 25 Guilds in San Pedro and San Pablo and day 26 will accompany the procession of the patron saint. The 27 again in the Brotherhoods of San Pedro and San Pablo.
