Deliver publications Cultural Heritage of the Nation

The Directorate General of Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, performed the day 21 November the official presentation of the relevant publication to this year.

The event was held at the "Rigoberta Menchú" the Deputy Minister of Cultural and Natural Heritage, in which Mario René Argueta, Director General of Cultural and Natural Heritage gave the Journal of Anthropology and History of Guatemala to the editor Patricia Eagle Magazine and Head, Department of Anthropological Research, Archaeological and Historical said direction.

Argueta also presented the publication of Ceremonial Paach, Olga Lidia Xicará and Byron Hernández García, document authors. The publication of Ceremonial Paach is the research that the authors conducted in san Pedro Sacatepequez, municipality of San Marcos in order to protect this tradition, named Intangible Cultural Heritage in the 2013 by UNESCO.

Each of the researchers who contributed their studies for the yearbook 2014, Patricia del Águila editor Post, handed officially a printed copy of the document.

For this year's yearbook contains the address 5 Archaeological research, a landmark and one of ethnohistorical type. The published titles are: "Tikal and its neighbors, Historical Events in Northeast Petén, 1834-1987 and Registration of their interventions "Oscar Quintana, "The History of Tak'Alik Ab'aj through the study of the Obsidian" Joseph Crasborn Chavarria, "Musical Instruments Nakum" Walter Omar Schwendener, "Analysis of Archaeological Ceramics Xacbal, Chajul, Quiche: Classic and Early Classic periods "of authors Bernard Hermes and Marco Antonio Valladares. Miguel Alvarez "Chronicler of the City of Guatemala" involved with the investigation "The praying of the Immaculate Conception of San Francisco 400 Years of History "and Ana Luisa Arriola contributes his study" Legacy Historical Documentary: Indigenous Titles ".

The consolidation of these documents are essential to preserving history in library collections in the service of the Guatemalan population.
