Success culminates Festival of Cultures in San Marcos

On Sunday night 17 November ended the "Festival of Cultures Space to Create and Recreate" in San Marcos, which met art exhibitions for the general population, becoming a point of understanding and enjoyment of artistic expressions, sample cuisine and recreation, inter.

A year after the earthquake tragedy, the department of San Marcos was chosen as the ideal setting to celebrate the Festival of Cultures, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports MCD, the Organization of Ibero-American States OEI department authorities and San Marcos.

The festival opened on Friday 15 November with the presentation of the Marimba Concert of the National Palace of Culture and closed the same day with the work Nutcracker Ballet Nacional de Guatemala.

On Saturday 16 November festival activities started with a march in which they participated MCD officials, he Governor of San Marcos, San Carlos Institute and the Military Band of the Interior. Also, clowns paraded, sancos and jugglers; Hubo super classes tae boe, kick boxing, tae chai, Latin dance festival and recreation.

Presented Modern and Ballet Folklorico in the following days, Marimba of Fine Arts and the National Choir of Guatemala, the latter presented an assembly in conjunction with the Fine Arts Marimba, Guatemalan delighting audiences with performances as: Xelajú Moon, Chichicastenango and Callecitas Marquenses.

To close the Festival of Cultures, Sunday 17 held the Festival of the Vice Ministry of Skills Sport and Recreation, Maya Ballgame and the presentation of the Women's Marimba Concert. The residents were also treated to a cultural fair, of painting and inflatable caritas globoflexia.

The Governor of San Marcos Luis Rivas Haroldo thanked the Ministry of Culture and Sports, on behalf of the people of San Marcos, department to bring all cultural activities, recreational and sports for everyone.
