Jade palm Award recognizes the teacher Javier Francisco Vega

Under the eleventh anniversary of the Cultural Center of Escuintla "Lic. Aristides Crespo Villegas ", Wednesday 12 June, were delivered by the Supreme Award for Culture in the department of Escuintla, "Palmera Jade", the teacher, painter, actor and journalist, Francisco Vega, best known in the arts as "Paco Vega".

The event took place at the Cultural Center auditorium, be chaired by the Minister of Culture, Sr. Carlos Batzin, Representative to Congress, Sr. Aristides Crespo Villegas, Broadcast Technical Director of the Arts, Sra. Noriega and Lucrecia León Cultural Center Director, Sr. Oscar Rodriguez.

The teacher Vega, was awarded the recognition of his long and distinguished career in national culture and international, in the fields of theater, painting and speech.

Prior to the delivery of recognition was attended by Guatemalan artist "Hummingbird", who at the sound of the maracas and cymbals danced and played the tunes "Xelajú Moon", "Mi Plegaria" y "Mi india maya"; melodies and "Nights of Escuintla", and "The Ferrocarril de los Altos", inter, performed brilliantly by the masters of the marimba Escuintla Cultural Center.

It is very important to recognize the work they have been doing these notable citizens, not only to promote culture, but also to set up the department of Escuintla, said Minister of Culture and Sports, Sr. Carlos Batzin.

This award was established in the year 2007 and from that date, allowed every year to award the best exponents and promoters of art and culture, with the support of Ministry of Culture and Sports, promoting national values.
