Guatemalan unite against autism in The Night of Affection

The Guatemalan Association for Autism (WATER), taking as the main partner to the Ministry of Culture and Sports through the National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology Guatemala, – MUNAE – who as part of its social outreach led to the expansion of culture to civil society and people with special, extend a cordial invitation to an artistic activity-social character called The Night of Affection. The activity was held at the premises of – MUNAE -, 6 Street and 7 Avenue, Hall No. 5, Finca La Aurora, Area 13; on Thursday 30 May 2013, from the 6 pm.

The main objectives of the activity are: the official launch of products for corporate image – WATER – , disclose the subject of autism and the need for child care, girls and people with this condition. As well as, _generar revenue for maintenance of the social programs of the associations involved in the event. Last, it will feature Chef Luis Castillo and Culinary Academy Chef's Center, intervention plus Armonic Jazz band.

WATER, is a private non-profit organization that seeks to provide a comprehensive response to a neurological disorder that is estimated, affects one percent of the population in the country, and today is virtually unknown society and therefore invisible Guatemala.

This Association was founded in the heart of a group of parents and professionals who have been touched by the lives of children diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum who realizing comprehensive development constraints facing, took the initiative to associate and promote inter-agency partnerships to raise, train, diagnose and address the country's autistic population, their families and professionals to your attention.

This initiative is also Education Program Potential, serving children, and adolescents with autism between the ages of 2 a 16 years old. In Potential, professionals evaluate the child's learning skills and design teaching methods and strategies appropriate evolutionary sequences to improve social skills, communication and autonomy of each student. In collaboration with the family develop specific programs and self-care skills to work. All programming is designed to detect the specific needs of each and their families.
