Homenaje posthumous to artist Luis Felipe Giron May

The Grand Chamber Efrain Recinos, the Centro Cultural Miguel Angel Asturias, met this day many people to dismiss with a fitting tribute to the artist Luis Felipe Giron May, Roving Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the fine arts, music and culture, who died 18 August.

In attendance the highest authorities of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marimba of Fine Arts and the National Symphony Orchestra, who played the funeral march from Bethoveen and Air by Johann Sebastian Bach.

On behalf of the Government of Guatemala, we pay this posthumous tribute to Luis Felipe Giron May, not only as a goodbye, but also to express that this country will continue remembering him as Roving Ambassador for Music, Culture and the Arts of Guatemala. A voice and a memory privileged, that Guatemala remember forever!, said Carlos Batzin, Minister for Culture and Sports.

During activity, not without words of thanks and appreciation to the artist, the friend, bright Guatemalan, leaving a valuable musical and cultural legacy. Also thank you for representing Guatemala at the international level, putting up the name of our country.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports reiterates its sincere condolences to the family, by extending the guild artistic, recognizing that it is a sad loss to Guatemala.
