Young shrine visit

About 125 Young conducted a site visit sacred Oxlajuj Kame located in San Juan Comalapa, Chimaltenango, as part of the "Come to the Mundo Maya" promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The activity was held last 5 August with young, ladies, and leaders of that community leaders.

The activity began with a series of presentations by community leaders in the town on the town's history and Kaqchikel Ancestral Knowledge to combat climate change. The visit ended with holding a Mayan Ceremony, by spiritual guides of the town, which was developed in an educational way for a better understanding of young people attending.

Edwar Chex, Cultural Promoter Ministry of Culture and Sports, He said that what is sought with this type of activity is that young people know archaeological sites or holy places of their town and to appreciate directly, the ancestral legacy of the Maya.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports, through the Office of Cultural Development and Strengthening of Cultures, promotes these actions for the strengthening and promotion of Guatemalan identity, culture of peace and the promotion of multiculturalism at the national level.
