Radio Lighthouse celebrates 63 years of musical culture

Authorities of the Ministry of Culture and Sports led the tribute Lighthouse Radio Cultural Foundation at a ceremony held this day at the Chamber Theatre "Hugo Carrillo" Cultural Center "Miguel Angel Asturias". The Deputy Minister of Culture, Yax Leandro gave special recognition to employees with greater seniority, who were granted a certificate of honor for the years they have dedicated to his work.

Contributors are: Antonio Juarez, Roberto Romero Zetina, Luis Lara Rosales, each with 35 years of work and Odilo De Leon Campos, with 12 years old. For his part, Radio Faro he acknowledged cultural and news programs that are part of the regular programming of the station.

The tribute featured an artistic side that started the Guatemalan flutist Gabriel Yela, Ballet Nacional de Guatemala, Women Marimba Concert, Iker Riley y el el baritone literato Armando Rivera. There was a special guest of the opera singer Cristina Altamira, who played baroque classics cutting. In addition, a video with a message recorded by the late master Efrain Recinos, who before his death spoke a few words in honor of the anniversary of Radio Faro.

Radio currently occupies space in the "Miguel Angel Asturias" Cultural Center and has repeaters to transmit in the wider area of ​​the central area of ​​Guatemala. These teams are located in the Cerro Alux and are dedicated exclusively to the transmission of Radio Faro.

The history of radio began 2 October 1950, promoted by Colonel Gonzalo Yurrita. Initially the frequency is tuned 750 khz, amplitude modulation (AM) and as the years progressed and technology strengthened, Radio Faro happened to Radio Spectrum FM (FM), the number 104.5.
