SEPREM drives in favor of Guatemalan women


The Presidential Secretariat for Women launched this SEPREM 6 March, a campaign entitled "I Love Life, We promote Peace ", that aims to contribute to building a harmonious society, respectful of human rights with a gender perspective, promoting a culture of peace and non-violence against women. The presentation was held at the Ramada Hotel in the area 4 capital.

The event was chaired by the Secretary General of the Presidential Secretariat for Women, Elizabeth Quiroa and the Minister of Culture and Sports, Special guest Carlos Batzin. Also, the presentation of the elements of the strategy became, among them radio and television spots, talks and press conferences, pages in social networks, posters, t and other. The campaign will run from 6 March to 26 November.

SEPREM also presented the medal "Order SEPREM Excellence" seven distinguished women for their leadership, example and entrepreneurship in each of the different scenarios in which they operate.

"Women have played a major role in the development of the history of our country, women is no different man, but both are complementary and these actions are generated spaces of female representation in different scenarios”, Carlos said Batzin, Minister.

For his part, Secretariat SEPREM, Elizabeth Quiroa, stressed that women are honored today are valuable because they have transcended, have broken paradigms and bravely faced life processes. They are an example for future generations. Were honorees: Thelma Aldana, Elsie Sierra, Julia Urrutia, Elena Supal Williams, Gladys Soto Barrios, Estela Guevara and Susana Pereira.
