Vice President receives recognition of art schools and music conservatories

RECONOCIMIENTO ROXANA BALDETTI_0751Students, teachers and principals of Schools of Art and National Music Conservatory, They offered this day recognizes Mrs. Roxana Baldetti, Vice President of the Republic, for their support of artistic dissemination, in activity in the National Palace of Culture, which included artistic presentations by students.

Earlier this year, Ms.. Vice President paid a visit to the National Theatre and the National School of Plastic Arts, to meet the needs faced by these institutions. Committed to the art, Q1 bussed million quetzals budget of the Vice President for Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, which is responsible for schools and conservatories.

There are currently 17 art schools that offer Bachelor of Arts, 9 music conservatories, 3 located in the metropolitan area and others in Guatemala 6 departments; 89 Community art academies, offering free courses in as many municipalities and 10 youth orchestras, all development and providing opportunities for girls, children and youth.

Artists are the expression of a people. Step by step we are going to go achieving these deficiencies sean fewer. It is my duty as Guatemalan, as a woman, as mother, looking to go out to these huge problems ... that is the culture and sport which entertains and makes them men and women of good, Express Roxana Baldetti, Vice President of the Republic.

Ms.. Vice appreciated the recognition, adding that he does not deserve, because it is part of their job, but also expressed his gratitude for the portrait that one of the students of the National School of Fine Arts gave him as part of recognition and said his continued commitment to art, so it will continue to support the various art institutions in the country.
