Live with Culture Easter concert of Sacred Music at the Open Air Theatre

Joining the celebrations of Holy Week, the Open Air Theatre "Otto René Castillo" Cultural Center Miguel Angel Asturias-CCMA- this will be the scene 10 April, Concert funeral marches of large national and foreign composers, performed by the Symphonic Band Martial Cultural Patrimony of the Nation, which is 142 year anniversary.

The aim is to provide the general public, the opportunity to hear the Guatemalan sacred music performed by the maximum set of symphonic band of Guatemala; also, recognize the importance of partnerships and sororities make the capital of culture, art and traditions of Lent in our country, said Carlos Estrada, Director of the CCMA.

The first part of the concert will include: A Karol of Antonino Oddo, Peter Raven Donis Flores; Jesus del Consuelo Fray Miguel Murcia, Eternal Duel Rafael García Reynolds; Cross of Christ and Manuel Ramirez Croker Ave Maria by Franz Schubert.

The second part will interpret, Sorrows of Salvador Rojo, Lord, I have sinned, Joaquin Santa Maria, Galilee of the Clover G. Roses, The uprising of Christ, Antonino Oddo, bereavement Homeland Rafael Chaves and Mater dolorosa, Julia Quinonez.

For the first time doing this type of activity for these dates, with performances of great composers. The event is Thursday 10 April at 19 hours. We invite all people to see this great event, entry and parking are free, Report Clariza Castellanos, Deputy Minister of Culture.

Brief History of the Band

Symphonic Band Martial Cultural Patrimony of the Nation, was created 25 September 1871, currently 142 years old. It was founded in the city of Guatemala by General Justo Rufino Barrios and Miguel García Granados, who appointed Peter teacher opera Vissoni to merge two marching bands existed and take care of it.

This band merged and was given the name Marching Band and 13 September 2004 was named Cultural Patrimony of the Nation. It is currently comprised of 54 musicians. Most are graduates of the Military School of Music.

Martial symphonic band makes the invitation to the people of Guatemala, people with the traditionalist and conservative spirit of our customs and traditions, so you can join us on Thursday 10 to 19 hours at the Open Air Theatre; where they will perform a concert of great composers funeral marches so your assistance will further focus this event.
