-AECID- Receive Presidential Order of Cultural Heritage

This day, President of the Republic of Guatemala, Otto Pérez Molina delivered the "Executive Order National Order of Cultural Heritage of Guatemala" to the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID), as recognition for their valuable cooperation with our country. The event was attended by S.M. Queen Sofia of Spain.

The delivery of this recognition, by Governmental Resolution 431-2013, is the valuable contribution of research AECID, conservation, prehispanic and colonial restoration, enhancement, safeguarding, revitalization, execution of works and preparation of master plans in Guatemala.

It is very important that we receive this recognition today is recognition ... a joint effort between Guatemala and Spain, is development work, in which we have learned together, we 25 agency years and over 25 years of working with Guatemala, said Don Jesús Gracia Aldaz, Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Latin America from Spain.

The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation born 11 November 1988, arriving at 25 years of work in Guatemala, Year 2013. In our country, AECID has participated in more than 30 projects, among them "Heritage Development and Training Workshops", have also been developed in Latin America.

The work done in these 25 years by the AECID and the Vice Ministry of Cultural and Natural Heritage, together with local institutions, Commonwealths and Municipalities, summarized in more than 30 Heritage projects and Training Workshops, in which the AECID contributed about Q140 million quetzals, added about Q50 million from national institutions.

Deliver book "20 Years of the AECID in Tikal"

At the end of the activity, official presentation and delivery of the book was also made "20 years of AECID in Tikal", which collects and summarizes the work carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Together with the AECID, in this iconic City Maya, Heritage.
