Iximché rally held in recreation by passing torch

The Re-Crearte peace torch arrived Friday 5 September Archaeological Park Iximché to carry the message of peace and brotherhood that region. The place is located in the town Tecpán, Chimaltenango, youth received educational institutions of those from the 9 hours performed recreational activities and a rally was organized by the Department of Sport and Recreation.

The rally included various stations, where participants lived and performed some sports activities and entertainment. This activity has been conducted in various departments of Guatemala and is intended to emphasize and live a culture of peace and recreation, welcome addition to commemorating the torch in that department.

After sports and recreational activities, a visit was made to the ceremonial area Iximché, guides by the Directorate General of Cultural and Natural Heritage. The participants were explained the history of the Pre-Columbian city was founded 1470 and functioned as the capital of the Late Postclassic Kakchiquel.
