Inaugurated school year art education

Today, Minister for Culture and Sports, Carlos Batzin, is declaring officially opened on School Year 2014 the National System of Art Education, which is composed of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Art Schools, Conservatory of Music, Community Schools of Art and Youth Orchestras, located throughout the country.

The activity involved students representing 14 thousand students expected to attend from around the country, in addition to the directors and Art Schools and Conservatories. The inauguration will present an artistic side, by the National School of Dance "Marcelle Bonge Devaux" and the involvement of students at the National Conservatory of Music "Germán Alcántara".

The protocol activity, chaired by the Minister Batzin, Clariza Castellanos, Deputy Minister of Culture and authorities of the Directorate General of the Ministry of Arts and General, aims to bring together officials of MCD with students from these centers and publicize the Guatemalan population to the existence of the National System of Artistic Education.

At these schools children attend, adolescents and young people at the end of his artistic learning, manage to be professionals in different disciplines such as music, dance, theater and visual arts, which strengthens the Guatemalan culture.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports, as the lead agency for culture, must fulfill its aims and objectives, including strengthening Guatemalan identity by protecting, promotion and dissemination of values ​​and cultural and artistic expressions of people and communities that make up the Nation, under the National Cultural Development Plan Long Term.

Likewise, as the governing body of the national culture, MCD corresponds to open and close the cycle of teaching artistic Guatemala, each calendar year.
