Secretary General of the OAS in Changing Rosa

In a formal ceremony, completed the 18 September, in the Court of Peace, National Palace of Culture, held Change of the Rose of Peace, at the hands of the Secretary General of the Organization of American States-OAS, José Miguel Insulza.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports, this distinction awarded him the Secretary of -OAS-, for its commitment to strengthening the -OAS-, as well as its efforts to increase the capacity for action on the continent. The resolutions of this body promoted by its Secretary, have been essential to safeguard the culture of peace and peaceful coexistence in Latin, Members of this organization.

After the change of the Rose, the honoree, was appointed Messenger of Peace. He later went on to sign the Golden Book of the National Palace of Culture. The activity was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rodrigo Vielmann, ambassadors and members of diplomatic and consular corps, believed en Guatemala.

About the Honoree

José Miguel Insulza is a lawyer, also, holds a law degree from the University of Chile. He has a degree in Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) and an MA in Political Science at the University of Michigan.

He has taught courses in Political Theory and Political Science at several universities in their home country Chile. Also, He has worked as Political Adviser, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Diplomatic Academy.

Insulza was elected Secretary General of the OAS 2 May 2005 and re-elected the 24 March 2010. Also, the Chilean politician has an outstanding record of public service in his country.
