Master of Fine Arts School will travel to Germany

With "Out Rapes the Planet", Guatemalan painter and muralist Jorge Corleto, won first place in the contest "United Central with its Forests Against Climate Change". The activity was held in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador last 15 July, with the participation of two representatives from each country artists of the region. They were summoned by the German Cooperation for Development.

The objective of this activity was to promote through art, combating climate change, through better management of forests with the participation of artists from the member countries of the Central American Integration System, SICA-. The winning entry was the Guatemalan artist and is a painting in acrylic on a wooden base, previously formed part of the floor of the National School of Dance in Guatemala, referring to recycling and environmental conservation.

The prize consists of a trip to Germany to attend the International Art Fair in Berlin, one of the most important fairs in Europe that starts the second half of September. Also, Corleto's work, will be used in an awareness campaign and awareness of societies in Central America, to stop the destruction of forests and develop actions that lead to good management of natural resources.

Now, Corleto serves as master of painting at the National School of Plastic Arts "Rafael Rodríguez Padilla", the Ministry of Culture and Sports. Throughout its more than 30 years of experience in the arts and academia, has been the subject of multiple awards.

When consulted, Master Corleto expressed: "Winning this award in Central America was very important because it gives me a chance to show the Guatemalan art internationally and especially because it made the name up Guatemala".
